Blown glass Jellyfish necklace in cobalt blue.
Perfect Ocean theme pendant.
I love creating 3 dimensional sea life pieces, especially jellyfish and turtles. I make the jellyfish look like they are actually swimming and floating within the glass pendant.
Each jellyfish is made by melting borosilicate glass tubing (pyrex) and blowing a bubble at the end of the tube in the flame. This glass blowing process allows me to flip the outer design inside out so to speak to create the tentacles buried deep within the glass. Borosilicate hard glass is crystal clear, and by using incredible reactive colors with silver causes the colors to reflect the light wonderfully and give the piece "life".
Every pendant I create out of molten glass is a one of a kind. I only use first quality borosilicate glass and a blowtorch fueled by a mixture of oxygen and propane. I always anneal my pieces right from the flame to the kiln with a digitally controlled environment. The kiln is slowly ramped down overnight to ensure a well made piece. I have mounted the pendant using a STERLING SILVER bail and ring for extra durability.

Evil Eye boro necklace -Handmade evil eye pendant with sterling silver bail!
Eyes have always been a fascination of mine. I make each handmade pendant using a blowtorch and Borosilicate glass in my studio. Some people refer to these eye pendants as Evil Eye Pendants. The evil eye has always been an ancient symbol that brings protection and good luck from any negative energy. I just like making eyes that look realistic, and glow from the silver in the glass.
A lot goes into making these Evil Eye Pendants. First, I must create a murrini cane with the pupil and iris. I love the different colors that go into just one Iris. Then I must add just the right amount of clear to the front of the iris similar to a cornea. Then I start the pendant once I have the iris ready for applying.
Once I have the pendant finished I always anneal my pieces right from the flame to the kiln with a digitally controlled environment. The kiln is slowly ramped down overnight to ensure a well made piece.
